Welcome Fellow Parents and Teachers!
We look forward to an exciting year in our district. Port SEPTA has planned a variety of speakers and programs for all levels, from preschool through high school and beyond. We are also pleased to continue to offer our very popular parent support group called “Second Cup” –a monthly meeting that is a great, informal way to meet other parents. Be sure to check meeting dates.
Port SEPTA’s Welcome Breakfast is on Thursday, September 13th at 9:00 am (not 9:30 as is on the district calendar) at Ayhan’s Shish Kebab Restaurant, 283 Main Street, Port Washington.
Port SEPTA is the district-wide HSA that supports students who have unique learning styles. All are invited to attend this informal breakfast—-returning members, new members, and prospective members!–to learn more about what we do and how to get involved.
We will also introduce Dr. Stephanie Allen, our new Director of Pupil Personnel Services and the Pupil Personnel Department, and Mr. Andrew Akapnitis, our new Director of Guidance Services. All are invited, and younger siblings are welcome!
Please email email@example.com with any questions. We hope to see you on Sept. 13th!
This year, we invite you to learn more about SEPTA. We are a district-wide PTA whose goal is to help every child in our district reach his/her fullest potential in the classroom. If you think your child is having difficulty, or have questions about resources in our school district, we encourage you to come to a SEPTA event or give us a call. Chances are, there is someone in our community that has had a similar experience and we can help connect you to him/her.
We both know first-hand how important it is to seek answers. As newcomers to the special education system many years ago, we were both uncertain about how to best advocate for our children. Port SEPTA provided us with information, helped answer our most dire questions and most importantly gave us a connection to other parents who understood how we were feeling.
We hope you will consider joining SEPTA to help support the programs and resources we provide. We also need your knowledge and experiences to help other parents.
